I have been a huge Michael Franks fan for almost as long as Michael has been making music. There are almost no other artists who have both the musical sense and the subtly, cleverness and erudition in the lyrics. However, given the length of his career and his consistent high quality output puts Michael virtually in a class by himself. I don’t use the word genius often but there is probably no other label that would apply.

Michael, Your music always brings me to a place that I love and through the years you have been a constant not only in my life but my family and friends from the Philippines.

  • Chris:

Takes me back to “Sleeping Gypsy” days.Need i say more..

  • Glen:

Agree with the other posts above-particularly Bill. And this is a clever, fun track, but certainly not the best on the Time Together album. It is just another hugely enjoyable collection of tunes. I’ve found myself excited over the years when a new album would appear–not only to hear the new songs but to marvel at Michael’s lyrics and phrasing ability. If Jobim were alive today, I’m sure he’d be proud of the body of work produced by the young man he befriended so many years ago. If you are new to his work, do some more exploring…you’re in for a treat!

  • Gwendolyn:

Michael’s music always puts me in a peaceful place. I was listening to the radio in my car on a Sunday evening a few years ago and heard one of his song…. I bought the album on Monday. I’ve been a fan ever since.

  • Tom Kearns:

I have every album and have taken them with me on my travels all around the world. I’m looking forward to the performance in Dallas in December.

  • Thomas:

Michael Franks is a category of one. Thanks for the many years of great music…it puts me in a place.

Micheal, hope you’ll play St. Louis one day!

Long time fan—he is the best—his songs take you to a special place—I wish I had just a little of his talentl

  • Tim:

Just a short note for those that maybe unaware of the music and talent that they are missing out on. Most artists you could pick an absolute favourite song/track, but with Mr Franks that’s impossible, he has produced an abundance of sheer class over the years that you really are unable to choose the ultimate top song. So much heartfelt emotion and poetry really touches the soul of those that enjoy his supreme talent. Love him forever X

When it first starts for some reason it reminds of the old “love for sale” song
    but I still love it…
